Respect Unit
- "An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind." (Mohandas K. Gandhi): Revenge eventually leads to everyone getting hurt. It does not solve the conflict.
- Maxim for respect: keep the peace: Do everything you can to solve conflicts peacefully.
- Escalating a conflict: Making a conflict worse by retaliating (revenge)
- De-escalating a conflict: Making a conflict better by refusing to retaliate.
- Bystander: someone who sees a conflict, a case of bullying, or some violent act.
- The bystander holds the power: bystanders have the most power to escalate or de-escalate a situation depending on how they respond. Laughing, encouraging can escalate the conflict. Refusing to laugh or encourage can de-escalate.
